8-Day Gombe Chimpanzee Trekking & Zanzibar Relaxation

Day 1:

Your journey begins with a smooth transfer from your Zanzibar hotel to the airport, where your scheduled flight to Kigoma awaits. Upon arrival, our friendly team will greet you and take you on a short cultural visit to Dr. Livingstone’s Memorial in Ujiji — a site that shaped East African history.

From there, board a private boat to Gombe National Park, one of Africa’s smallest yet most legendary sanctuaries. Enjoy lunch at your lodge before heading into the emerald hills for your first chimpanzee tracking adventure.
Watch them move gracefully through the canopy — a rare, emotional encounter that few people on earth ever experience.

After an early breakfast, head back into the forest accompanied by experienced trackers who know the chimps by name and sound. The terrain is adventurous — a mix of rolling hills, rivers, and tropical vegetation — but every step brings you closer to understanding these intelligent, emotional beings.

Spend precious moments observing them feed, groom, and communicate. This is not just a trek — it’s a connection to our shared ancestry and the purity of the wild.
Return to camp for lunch, then relax by the shores of Lake Tanganyika, watching the sunset shimmer over one of the world’s deepest lakes.

Wake to birdsong and enjoy a final morning walk through the forest, perhaps visiting the Kakombe Waterfall, a hidden gem surrounded by dense greenery. After lunch, board a boat back to Kigoma town.

Upon arrival, check into your comfortable lakeside hotel, unwind by the pool, and enjoy a quiet dinner overlooking the water.

After breakfast, relax at your hotel before we transfer you to the airport for your flight to Zanzibar. On arrival, our Zanzibar team will welcome you warmly and take you directly to Prison Island, where you’ll meet the giant Aldabra tortoises and swim in crystal-clear waters.

Later, enjoy a guided Stone Town walking tour, discovering the island’s rich history, from the old slave market to the spice-scented alleys.
End the day at your beautiful beach hotel, where the Indian Ocean breeze greets you.
