Tarangire National Park

Overview

Tarangire National Park, located in northern Tanzania, is one of the country’s most scenic wildlife havens. Known for its ancient baobab trees and large elephant herds, the park offers a peaceful wilderness less crowded than the Serengeti. During the dry season, animals gather around the Tarangire River, creating exceptional game-viewing opportunities. Visitors can spot lions, leopards, giraffes, and over 500 bird species. Its diverse landscapes—rolling savannahs, acacia woodlands, and wetlands—make Tarangire a photographer’s paradise. The park is easily accessible from Arusha, making it an ideal stop on Tanzania’s northern safari circuit.
